Maranello, 6 January – The 2015 edition of the Australian GT championship was positive for the Ferrari customer teams, which often played a leading role, even though they did not collect the rewards that they truly deserved. The best result in the prestigious prologue of the 12 Hours of Bathurst was the sixth place of the 458 Italia of the Vicious Rumour Racing team driven by Benny Simonsen, Andrea Montermini and Renato Loberto (second in category AA behind the Nissan of Strauss-Chiyo-Repp). The season officially started in Adelaide with a third place for Jono Lester and Paul Kelly at the wheel of the Ferrari of the Trass Family Motorsport team. Starting with the following race in Phillip Island, Kelly left his place to Graeme Smyth who immediately scored a third place. The Townsville event was most rewarding, providing a win for Tony D’Alberto and Grant Denyer (Maranello Motorsport) in Race-1 and a second place in Race-2. Denyer, paired with D‘Alberto, won again at Eastern Creek and Sandown, ahead of Lester-Smyth. By the season‘s end, Denyer was runner up in the championship behind Christopher Mies (Audi). Jono Lester (who earned five pole positions) was fifth, D‘Alberto seventh, and Smyth eighth.
